Poreč is a city of culture, entertainment, clean beaches, coves and numerous islands located on the west coast of Istria. Its coastline is indented at 37 km from the valley of the Mirna River in the north to the deep channel in the south of Lim. The largest and most beautiful of the islands surrounding Poreč is St. Nikola, on which you can visit the round tower from 1402, one of the oldest lighthouses in the Adriatic.
The entire old town of Poreč is a cultural monument with the street layout preserved since ancient roman cestrum, but still, the best known monument of the city remains the Euphrasian Basilica included in the UNESCO's World Heritage List. Narrow streets and squares, parks and cleanliness of this little town will win you over at first glance. Should you visit Poreč in late April or early May, you can attend the international exhibition of wines and winemaking equipment "Vinistra Poreč".
The Lim channel, nearby Porec, is a 12 km fjord that protrudes into the coast and is considered one of the most beautiful natural resources of the Istrian peninsula.
