General info
With its amazing 5835 kilometers of coastline and 1185 islands
and islets, Croatia offers fascinating places to discover. It is one of the
most fascinating archipelagos in the world, where the Mediterranean civilization,
history and culture have left vestiges that can be seen even today as authentic
as they were once.

Croatia 78 charter companies, dispose with more than 1600 boats for crewed
and bareboat charter of which about 1450 modernly equipped sailing boats, mostly
Bavaria, Elan, Jeanneau and Beneteau models and around 150 motor yachts.
Most of these companies are united under the Croatian Charter Vessels Group
and regulary exibiting on the largest yachting and nautical fairs around world.
The reason for such rapid developement lies in a number of advantages that
Croatia as a destination has to offer.
Fascinating nature, the long chain of rugged islands of Croatia’s mountainous
coast, a lot of abundant anchorages and a stable climate make Croatia a cruising
haven with the perfect sailing conditions. For all those keen on privacy or
those who prefer untouched nature Croatia offers Mediterranean wild beauty,
warm colors with beautiful light, generous and fragrant vegetation. Its coast
alternates cliffs and caves, rocky inlets, fine pebble beaches and majestic
bays. Traveling to Croatia is fast and easy, within 2 hours by plane you can
reach it from almost any corner of the Europe.

coast and its islands is a journey into the unknown. Every other time you
come to visit Croatia you will find it different, but equally breathtaking

Sailing conditions
Croatian sailing season runs from April till November and is quite long.
The best period to come to Croatia depends on the kind of vacation that you
would like to have. In July and August, periods of calm prevail - ideal for
those who like smooth waters for enjoying the summer fun activities and water
sports, or relaxed vacation with the family.
Winds are predominantly westerly in the summer(Mistral and Tramontana).
If sailing is your primary interest then Croatia is a place for you during
the early summer and spring with light to moderate winds in May and June.
September and October will provide you the right winds to set your sails
and trim your jib with prolonged periods of the Bora (strong north wind)
and the Scirocco (humideast-southeast wind). While bura and jugo each in
their own way offer to sailors the excitement and challenge, maestral guarantees
a pure pleasure during which you can give yourself to the sea without fear.
Sailing during the winter on the Adriatic is unique adventure as well, but
make sure that you charter a boat with the heating and prepare yourself for
possibly high winds and rough sea.
